As We the People stew in our country’s current affordability crisis, are you not, as echoed by the words of Civil Rights advocate Fannie Lou Hamer, “sick and tired of being sick and tired?”
Well, I’m sick and tired of ALL of it. I’m sick of making what would have been good money 30 years ago, yet I can’t save a dime of it. I’m sick of billionaires stealing the value people create through their labor via wage slavery. I’m sick of the Permian Basin’s booms being for THEM and busts being for US. I’m sick of seeing oil workers risk their lives without fair compensation for that risk. I’m sick of said workers and their families having their rents jacked up simply because the economy is doing well. I’m sick of liars gutting the only services that keep some of us afloat. I’m sick of how our sacred Constitution is being trampled by a rogue, authoritarian president, and I’m sick to death of how thoroughly President Trump has betrayed his promises to voters in TX-11. This is NO way to live.
Will we let the modern robber barons play while we decay? Well, we don’t have to. Send me to Congress, because I have a plan.
Lets get our country back with BIG and BOLD ideas inspired by our history.
Americans throughout our history have always demanded bold government intervention in times of crisis. Big Oil won’t fix it, because there’s no profit in fixing it. However, when the Great Depression left millions without work, homes, or hope due to the greed of a few, President Franklin Roosevelt used our government to transform entire regions of the country into productive, industrial powerhouses. When Americans couldn’t afford food or healthcare in the 60’s, President Lyndon Johnson, a Texan, gave us Medicare, Medicaid, and what became the SNAP program as a part of his War on Poverty.
“As your candidate for Congress, I say that our government can, and should, be used to do good AGAIN—on the same massive scale as Roosevelt’s mobilization for WWII.”This is why I am a Mission for America Democrat. We can and WILL fix this for you.
The MFA program is directly inspired by this history: a time when the working class ran the Democratic party and reaped the benefits of its prosperity. The 1950’s, when WWII veterans bought homes and raised families on a single income, was both built by these Democrats, and sustained by good Republicans like President Dwight Eisenhower. Eisenhower’s Interstate Highway Act embodies this history as well.
But let me first tell you what an MFA Democrat is NOT. MFA Democrats are NOT the Democratic Party that has, over the last 30 years, turned its back on working class Americans. In 2024, our population voted for a hand-grenade candidate in Donald Trump, rather than the promise of the neoliberal Democrats to politely continue the status quo for the sake of billionaires and corporations. I did not vote for Trump, but I do not blame you if you did. The Democratic Party has turned into a party of college educated bureaucrats all too ready to snub their noses at you. I say its time the working class of BOTH parties steal the Democratic party back from them, and push it towards its working class, historical roots. This is part of the mission of MFA Democrats.
The MFA was developed by the New Consensus think tank founded by Democrat and congressional candidate Saikat Chakrabarti, who is running in a primary against Nancy Pelosi—a woman who symbolizes everything wrong with the modern Democratic party. Good luck to him! With a government mobilization not seen on this scale since WWII, we MFA Democrats plan to create millions of jobs building clean energy infrastructure, implement a massive expansion of the social safety net that includes universal healthcare AND childcare, eliminate the influence of dark money on politics, and end the neoliberal/neoconservative obsession with endless war. Furthermore, the population, YOU, will be a part of the process of planning and mobilizing for these changes.
What this means for the Permian Basin
These policies have ENORMOUS implications for the Permian Basin, and could potentially transform this region from an extraction economy full of transient workers, to a clean energy manufacturing economy full of permanent and thriving communities. As your congressman, I will ensure that TX-11 is at the center of these efforts. Below are four of MANY ways the TX-11 constituents could potentially benefit from the MFA. These four issues are the heart of my campaign platform. Click on the links below for a vision of the Permian’s future!
The MFA will have the following benefits for TX-11 residents by 2030-35:
60,000 new clean energy jobs—stable, well-paying work that can’t be shipped overseas
Family farms thriving—agriculture that’s profitable and sustainable
Zero hospital closures—world-class healthcare in every community
Democracy that works—government that serves people, not corporations
THIS ISN’T A DREAM—it’s a plan, and one worth fighting for. The same government power that created Social Security for our seniors and Medicare/Medicaid for our healthcare, will now create a clean energy economy that puts working families first. Our country needs, once again, a massive transformation, as we’ve done in the past to address the Great Depression. This is how we will TRULY make America great again.
The choice is yours on Election Day. Vote for me or not. Just make sure you VOTE, because the survival of our democracy depends on it.
How Do We Fund All This?
Through the revival of the Franklin Roosevelt institution used to finance our war machine during WWII, the Reconstruction Finance Corporation. To make an investment, one must get over their fear of debt, but if that money is invested in the genius of the American people, it will be paid back MANY times over. One thing we will for sure do, like 79% of the American people demand (including 63% of republicans), is tax the HELL out of the upper 1% of billionares. And just in case you forgot, our government is not a for profit corporation, but a service to the American people. Click HERE for a Q & A on how this historical institution is relavent to our crises today.
There’s more…
There is much more besides we need to solve. We need to tell Governor Abbott’s school voucher cronies in this district to go to HELL, and fully fund our public school system, allowing our kids to benefit from the latest classroom technologies. We need to force Governor Abbott to allow rent control measures in our communities where rents continue to skyrocket. We need to make it easier for oil workers to unionize via collective bargaining rights. We need to outlaw oil company theft of land by way of eminent domain seizure that benefits only oil companies. The Mission for America will help us do this, and a LOT more.
Billionaires cannot buy me. I have pledged not to take any donations from corporate PACs, lobbyists, and ESPECIALLY the fossil fuel industry that is stealing the wealth of this region from its people. My campaign is funded entirely by people like you and however much you are able to give. You can also donate your time by volunteering with us. It's time to stop putting our democracy up for sale. I promise to represent YOU not THEM.
